What is Different About Soberman's Estate?
Soberman’s Estate is a state-licensed, nationally accredited, world class Behavioral Health and Residential Treatment Center in Cave Creek, Arizona. We provide discreet, individualized, sophisticated recovery and wellness services for professional men to recover from alcoholism, substance use disorders, other addictions, and co-occurring issues such as trauma, anxiety, stress and depression. Our typical client is a licensed-professional man between 30-80 years old, with alcohol and/or opioid addiction, and co-occurring issues.
Soberman's Estate offers individualized treatment. Our medical and clinical leadership design a treatment plan that is customized to each client's goals and preferences. With a 10-bed maximum, our staff is able to fully dedicate their time, energy, and talent to each individual client and their healing needs. Though there are many group activities, each client's schedule is a unique combination of clinical, medical, holistic, and spiritual modalities.
With a foundation of three to five hours of one-on-one therapy per week and daily group therapy, clients are invited to try an additional wide variety of therapeutic modalities in order to find which ones are most effective for them. Oftentimes activities clients least expect to work are surprisingly efficacious, such as painting in art therapy, or partnering with a horse in equine therapy.
Each of these modalities are conveniently located on our beautiful five-acre property, outside of occasional local therapeutic nature hikes in the serene Sonoran desert, guided by our Clinical Director.
We are grateful to teach men how to live a better life for the rest of their lives.
Connecting The Dots at the Buffet
A letter from CEO and Founder Mitch Prager
This morning I listened carefully as one of our clients shared his perceptions of our programing - I realized that his perceptions were accurate even though we hadn't clarified them in writing.
My frame of reference to this client's comments reminded me of when I was walking between classes in college and had an "Aha Moment" / "A Light Bulb Turning on Moment" / "A Thought Crystalizing Moment" - I learned something very valuable as I processed the three lectures I heard that day - the lesson learned did not occur as I listened to any one of the three professors - it occurred as I "Connected the Dots" of what the three professors shared - the connecting the dots formed a greater, clearer, individualized understanding of a principal I could apply to my life as opposed to one individual's opinion.
In this Client's first week in treatment, he experienced many modalities with several care providers (Psychiatrist, Therapist, Counselor, ART, Equine, Meditation, Labyrinth, Yoga, Massage, Acupuncture, Fitness Coach, Spiritual Advisor, Medicine Wheel...) and they shared their ideas about Regulating the body through Breath Work and Mindfulness (which is integrated through all programming). A first, he thought the ideas were contradictory, and then on his own realized we offered what we said we offered and that is a truly individualized treatment program; a "Buffet" approach where we encourage clients to participate in all programming and adopt those practices that work best for them.
Sometimes the students are the best teachers! Clients learn a lot from their Brothers in Recovery (those who are in treatment with them) and this week the teachers learned from the student - this client recommended we call out the fact that we ensure Individualized Programming with Adequate Dosage of Treatment by reviewing each clients' goals with them weekly to ensure they receive the appropriate amount of treatment days, weeks, months. He recommended we promote the fact that we teach Self-Reliance Recovery Skills through a Scientific / How the Brain Works approach and how we have woven this into our rotating weekly topics that are separately shared in a Weekly Educational Meeting for Family Members. Thank you Mr. Anonymous Client for being our teacher this week!
We have been approved as a provider for the Arizona Medical Board, and provide a 3 Day Comprehensive Evaluation Assessment Program (CEAP) for licensed clinical providers.
Our evaluation program is the first element of designing a personalized treatment plan for each client. After a thorough evaluation, our clinical team designs a highly customized treatment plan with various evidence-based modalities for each man. Our high staff-to-client ratio allows each client to receive time and energy dedicated specifically to them and their uniquely designed recovery plan.
We offer an experienced, intelligent, compassionate team of highly respected medical professionals that offer expert treatment for addiction and mental health disorders.
